The site looks crap, turned off the previous theme due to
complaints and errors and this is the only reasonable theme I had. Will sort it soon. I might even post something interesting!

Yes, it is spelled correctly! Remember them? Ex Bananarama Member Siobhan Fahey and Marcella Detroit were the lead and backing vocalist respectively.

Their first single to chart in the UK was called You’re History. And that’s exactly what I say to Defensio on this blog today.

After 5 months using it, the first couple of months were great, after teaching it the commenting regime on this blog it caught all my spam comments with no problem.

Unfortunately, beginning of May is where it started to go wrong. It marked a number of genuine comments as spam and couldn’t process some other comments. Same thing happened in June. Last night I had to “unspam” 6 more comments (including one from Donncha and two from my Dad) and then today I had to self-process another 20 messages because Defensio seemed incapable. I then did the same thing on Mini! Mini! Mini!.

So, Defensio, You’re History.

Continuing the musical theme, Thin Lizzy’s The Boys Are Back In Town. Where “The Boys” = Akismet. Can someone remind me why I left please?

On another note, this theme is starting to piss me off. I don’t know why, it’s been great. But I feel a change coming on. Possibly single column with the “sidebar” at the bottom. Expect Change.

You can blame Wolfie‘s “auctioned post” on blog design for the theme change this time.

I absolutely refuse to pay for a theme for this site. A number of reasons:

I am broke.
I am broke.
While others might be quite happy paying for a theme (and good on ya) I really don’t believe that I should have to pay for a theme when there’s so many decent free themes out there.
I am broke.

Decent free themes like this one. I really like the layout of the theme. I don’t like the two adverts that are in the theme (there were three but I removed one) but they will change to :

On the top – a link to my other websites with banners. MITTS, Mini Mini Mini and P&SMOC are on the list
On the side – de-motivational pictures, text or just images that I really like.

By definition the banners (top) should be linkable. They should also rotate at set intervals. The ones on the side should rotate too but not necessarily link.

I am having issues finding plugins that will do this for me right now. I tried a PHP script from A List Apart, but it sucked. Then I realised it was from 2005. I wasted two hours trying to get that to work before I gave up.

If any of my readers have any scripts or plugins that can do what I want, please let me know!

This Is Not A Permanent Solution

Yes, I changed the theme. No, it’s not permanent. I will sort something out. Just trying this one on for size.

I like the boxed side bar for a start and the boxed posts makes for easier reading. I don’t like the background and there’s nowhere (at the moment) for my logo (the Thundercats C).

Lets keep our fingers crossed it’s better than the shit that is/was 2007. I have heard too many sad/bad stories recently and I want happy news.
