Playing with the Action in PS was an interesting experience, although I can’t say I’m a great fan of the style. I can’t get the action to reproduce anything like Donncha’s but what I did achieve was something I think is pretty cool.

I played with a couple of photos that I took at Brooklands Mini Show in March ’07. First up, the original photo (click any of them for a larger version)

The first run through of the action produced this result:

I didn’t particularly like the wash-out of the colour and there was an unsharp mask (USM) that was just over sharpening the image.

I played again, turning the image sepia and deselecting the USM filter getting this result:

Not too bad I thought!

I had a play using the same effects on a different image and this resulted:

What do you think? Is there any way that I could improve these? How about forgetting the technique altogether?
