			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Having a little time on my hands this morning I was going through my RSS Subscriptions.  <a href="http://inphotos.org/daffodils-in-the-sky/">Donncha&#8217;s post</a> which mentioned <a href="http://www.lomography.com">Lomography</a>.  Not having GIMP I went searching for a Photoshop action, finding <a href="http://www.emanueleferonato.com/2006/06/11/photoshop-lomography-photo-action/">Emanuele&#8217;s Action</a> for download.</p>
<p>Playing with the Action in PS was an interesting experience, although I can&#8217;t say I&#8217;m a great fan of the style.  I can&#8217;t get the action to reproduce anything like Donncha&#8217;s but what I did achieve was something I think is pretty cool.</p>
<p>I played with a couple of photos that I took at <a href="http://www.cornellfinch.com/2007/03/28/brooklands-mini-show-2007/">Brooklands Mini Show in March &#8217;07</a>.  First up, the original photo (click any of them for a larger version)</p>

<p>The first run through of the action produced this result:</p>

<p>I didn&#8217;t particularly like the wash-out of the colour and there was an unsharp mask (USM) that was just over sharpening the image.</p>
<p>I played again, turning the image sepia and deselecting the USM filter getting this result:</p>

<p>Not too bad I thought!</p>
<p>I had a play using the same effects on a different image and this resulted:</p>

<p>What do you think?  Is there any way that I could improve these?  How about forgetting the technique altogether?</p>
