You Make Me Sick

A few months ago there was a report on the BBC News and in local papers about a group of teenagers that kicked a fawn to death. It caused outrage at the time (I think I blogged it but can’t find it) and it made me really angry at the time. Thankfully, the teenagers were caught and successfully prosecuted for the attack.

On the BBC News website today there’s a report about a 10 week old Jack Russell puppy being kicked to death in woods in Cambridgeshire. According to the report the puppy had run up to three people, one of whom kicked it in the head and then ran off.

The offenders, who ran off, wore hooded tops.

RSPCA inspector Cherry Evans said: “This is an absolutely shocking and sickening incident which caused a great deal of pain to this small puppy, and left her owners devastated.

A member of the public tried to rescuscitate the puppy but it died almost immediately from a fractured skull.

What the hell drives these people? Bored? Scared? The hoodies?

“Ooh, a puppy. Let’s kick it in the head! It’ll be ok.”

I really really hope that the person that did this gets similar treatment. Karma. I truly believe it.

“oh, but it’s just a puppy…”

Bastards.

UPDATE: An anonymous benefactor has offered a £200 reward for information leading to a conviction. Perhaps they could pay for a new puppy for the 15 year old instead? I know it won’t solve the problem but it might help.

Nice post. From the heart. I too felt sickened by this story. Sometimes, I think I’m turning into my father or a grumpy old git but sometimes, you do wonder what sort of world we are living in.

I too wonder if I’m just going soft but these people really have no right to call themselves human. Bring back Public humiliation and the stocks!
