Idiots are using Google
According to the BBC this morning, Google has released their top 10
searches for 2008. Perhaps unsurprisingly the top two are Sarah Palin and
then Beijing 2008.
Number 3 in the list is kind of disturbing though. It’s “Facebook Login”.
Is it really that difficult to find the login for Facebook then? Never
thought about going to www.facebook.com and clicking the login button?
What’s even more disturbing though is the top 10 uk searches:
1. Facebook
2. BBC
3. YouTube
4. EBay
5. Games
Four of the top five are top level domains of those exact names. If you
want to see the rest of the list, Google it…

Actually, I think those stats aren’t just the standard search stats. For example I recently checked my Google search stats and it showed that I performed around 300 searches a day which is a really high number.
I have Google toolbar installed with my FF and barely use bookmarks. So if I type ‘facebook’ in the address bar and hit enter that’s still counted as a Google search even though it automatically takes me there without any search results, etc.
