I Took Photos!

Something that doesn’t happen very often at the moment. Certainly the last “serious” photos I took were at the Farnborough Air Show in July.

Today I was asked to shoot two aircraft (not down!) that were due to leave work as the first under a new contract.

The brief was to take a couple of photos of a group of people in front of a Seaking helicopter.

The reality was two hundred people from the business unit and select VIPs (as far as the business is concerned), two Seakings – one on the heliport “spot” and the other hovering some distance above and behind.

It’s certainly the biggest group shot I have ever done and the timing had to be very carefully controlled to get the second aircraft in the shot at the right time. Still, I think we pulled it off. The sun was shining, I was on a ladder and just for a change everyone was looking at the camera instead of each other/the ground/the sky/Aunt Mabel’s hat flying off (like at weddings).
