Hi Collin,

I'm the IT Manager for ePHOTOzine and we came across your post a couple of days ago. Of course we were quite shocked at your findings and we quickly took action.

Although this post was little over 6 months ago, we still had around 230 errors on the homepage. We have completed the validation of the homepage today and have got it down to between 50-89 errors. Unfortunatly, some of the code that is displayed is from third party servers which we have no control over, however we have made sure all of our code on the homepage is validated.

We are also in the middle of a redevelopment and have applied validation techniques to newer areas and will be re-dueing other areas of the site in the coming months.

Thanks for pointing it out!

David

well i've updated my site today so that might explain the errors.
I know that the _blank for the target isn't xhtml compliant, just haven't learned the other way to do it yet.
Plus sometimes frames can cause a problem

Mate, I'm showing 23 errors on your site. I suspect that's something to do with the first error I'm seeing though:

<blockquote>could not get "/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11-strict.dtd" from "www.w3c.org" (reason given was "Service Unavailable due to Unknown abuse from requesting IP").</blockquote>

Don't know what the hell that means!

No - just realised that my Disqus Javascript widgets breaks it. My vanilla Habari theme validates though and yes, I think it's important.
