Not only does it steal bandwidth but it must be a huge lag on computers that is connected via dial-up! I have fast ADSL (relatively speaking) and I have turned it off as well. "This is cool!" I thought when I had hovered the cursor and read the message. But then I noticed that my machine was slowing down. And for some pages it was taking quite a while for the tick marks to appear. I have the preferences set to 100 hits on both Google and Yahoo Searches. I turned it off. But then I noticed that my machine was slowing down. And for some pages it was taking quite a while for the tick marks to appear.

I have the preferences set to 100 hits on both Google and Yahoo Searches.

I turned it off.
