That Was Hard Work!
Okay, I said a week or so. I lied. Don’t sue me! As I said in the last post, I wanted to get away from the blogging, twittering, internet reliant side of myself and see if I could cope knowing it was there and refusing it. I managed almost a fortnight and although I have been on the ‘net I have managed to avoid posting much at all.
So, what did I do with my new found freedom? Well, not much more than usual really! I got the Mini through the MOT, did 40 miles locally and then went on a huge 600 mile round trip to Torquay with the Mini Club for the weekend. Daze has a fantastic write-up about the event so I will point you in his direction and just let you ogle at a couple of crappy photos from the weekend:

You can see all the photos from the event in the Flickr set. I apologise if the first part of the previous sentence appears half way down the first photo, I don’t know right now what’s causing it.
I have to say that I am really proud to be a member of this Mini Club. My fan belt broke before we got 15 miles and while I was stamping about, losing my temper, three of the youngest drivers in the club got in front of the car and within 10 minutes had a new belt on. This is why I’m in the club. Had I been on my own then it would have been the breakdown service and possibly the end of the weekend before it had even begun.
The members showed again why we are one of the best clubs in the UK. They were respectful, fun, polite, kind and above all a joy to be with. It honours me to be able to call them friends.
In other news, I washed the Harley today! The first time since February and damn did it need it! The weather over here recently has been 21 degrees (non of this Fahrenheit BS for me!) and sunny. I’m riding the bike all I can at the moment and managed to escape work for nearly 90 minutes at lunchtime and ride to the beach for food. It was a superb way to break up the day. I might even head down there again tomorrow!
Ah well, so much to say, so few that actually want to read this. I will make a new post for a project I am thinking about. Probably tomorrow now though. ;)

Its really great to hear you’re enjoying being part of the club. I would consider nearly all members “friends” – we have a really great bunch! The waterfall photo at the top is superb Collin, really very excellent.
Nice to hear you’ve also washed the Harley. A ride to the beach for food and back during a lunch break sounds really nice – especially in the nice weather like we have at the moment.
Also, thanks for your kind comments about my write-up :)
