So, first the tickets, then the badges off the MG and now my mobile phone has died.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

I’m guessing that not many people can get a puff of smoke from their mobile phone. I can! I charged it this morning, plugged it in to the PC to get a photo off it and puff. It switched off, never to receive a phone call again.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

So, I phoned Vodaphone this afternoon to enquire about an upgrade. Four different menus, two wrong passwords and lots of buttons pressed and I got (a human, not a recording!):

“I’m sorry, all our systems are down at the moment. Would you like a call back?”

I opted to phone a couple of hours later. I’ve just phoned them again with the same result. I opted for the callback this time so they will call me either tomorrow or Monday. So, while I wait for their call, does anyone have any recommendations for a decent mobile? The only stipulations are:

1. It MUST be a Nokia.
2. It must play MP3s.

I am swaying towards the 6288 at the moment. I rather like the sound of the 3.2mp camera on the Sony Ericsson k800i but am worried about the ease of use of the menus. I’ve always had Nokias and the only time I strayed was to a Samsung E700 which I hated.

    The k800i is nice, you can upload to flickr directly from the phone.

    why only nokia? then again, i’m rather inclined to that brand too; it’s the easiest and most user-friendly of all the other brands.

    You should possibly expand out from Nokia. I have owned only Nokia’s since I’ve had mobiles, until I got the one I’ve got now. I have a Sony Ericsson w810i and it is by far the best phone I’ve ever had. Its very fast, always works (so far) and does everything you want quickly. I really like it.

    Sulz – haven’t been around the forum much lately as there’s no many people willing to provide the support I felt I wasn’t needed. Backed off for a bit. Still check in regularly, just don’t post much.
