Some Things Make Me REALLY ANGRY!

I shouldn’t drag this out of wp.com but I need to vent it somewhere. For a few months people on wordpress.com have been asking for Google Adsense. Not just that, but they want it for free.

Why? Why should you have it for free? You want to make money from something you don’t pay for? Yes, I know that that is the way of the world. But still, wordpress.com needs to pay for the servers, development, bandwidth, support (from Mark, Donncha, Matt and all the others). How do they make money to keep your servers on line so that you can get your adsense for free? I know, but do you?

Anyway. What has really pissed me off tonight is that this subject is currently running in three different threads on the wordpress.com forum:

Should Wordpress Allow Adsense?
Allow us to make money.
Competition With Blogger

Do we really need three threads, one of which is demanding, one of which is supposedly for “personal information” and the third is trying to compare wordpress to the bullshit service that is regularly “unavailable”, “slow”, or even hacked (again).

Please note that two, yes two, of these threads have been started by the same person.

In the competition with blogger thread DreamNepal states

My bad…I don’t read the forums that much…Thanks timethief.
I just wish they will allow us to head off with adsense soon.

Timethief does an amazing job helping where she can the less experienced users at wordpress.com for nothing more than her enjoyment and the pleasure she gets from helping others. I am very much the same. I help because I can.

In the “Should Wordpress Allow Adsense” thread Dreamnepal (remember that blockquote above) attacks (you think that’s harsh? Go read) for stating her opinion on a thread that should never have been started in the forum. Before you start casting your opinions about other people can I suggest you get the whole story? If you don’t want the whole story DreamNepal then I suggest you wind your neck in and scurry off back to whichever little rock (blog) you came from.

If you don’t like it, there’s always the .org forum for you to play in!

Cornell,
Thanks for covering up the topic out here as well. If she can call me squeaky wheels…and if you think this is not disrespectful, then mind your own business…you need to grow up …yea even older…

what if I call you the same? Squeaky wheels huh? I can understand you have timethief in your blogroll and you guys are friends but I am fair…I credit people when they offer good advice and criticize when its on the wrong side…

My block quote above is evidence that I respected her help but again, if she goes on to calling names, I am certain to backfire…

In any case, I have no grudge now…

Peace

Nice new template, Cornell.

I don’t understand why some people feel compelled to put ads onto their site. The revenue is always so paltry unless you have a big audience — but it’s the people who get 20 readers a day an who already have a crap design that want to stuff ugly ads onto their sites.

Personally, I have a ‘No Ads Rule’. My site design is 100% mine and it would be a disservice to put advertisements on it. I pay $5 a month or whatever for the hosting and that’s that.

If you DO want to put ads on your site, at least make them tasteful. For example, Mrs. Karen Cheng has succeeded remarkably. See how her ads compliment the decor of her site.

Covering up the topic? Hardly. Squeeky Wheels? Disrespectful? Again, hardly. Calling you a self centred freeloader would be disrespectful. You must be really sensitive if you can’t even get past a little bit of name calling and see the real issue.

The thread should never have been started in what is a support forum. You put the poll in your blog, fair enough. It should have stayed there rather than it being dragged into the forum yet again.

Squeeky wheels! I’m gonna run away laughing at the fact you can’t get over being called “squeeky wheels”! Bye… :)

Phil:

Thanks! I love your site design too. It’s certainly unique and works really well.

I tried ads on this site (in a previous guise) for a month and it didn’t perform at all. Blam, they’re gone. I don’t get enough readers and they made me look like a freeloader. I didn’t like them being there in the first place.

Karen has another awesome theme and yes, the adverts are are tastefully placed. Ok, they’re there, but the don’t get in-yer-face and detract from the content.

Thanks for visiting!

On the subject of “squeaky wheels”I believe we are dealing with one of two different scenarios.

The first possibility is that the person doesn’t speak our mother tongue well enough to understand that the English idiom I used carries neither a positive or negative connotation with it. It simply states the case from a situational viewpoint. “The squeaky wheel gets the oil” dates back to the servicing of cart wheels and is applicable to modern technology as well as human nature today. It carries no emotional charge other than what this blogger chooses to endow it with.

The second possibility is that the person does understand this and he deliberately created a big fuss by making false accusations of name calling and rudeness because he was angry. He was angry that I dared to bring what Matt actually said to light. Matt indicated a “paid upgrade” will probably be in the works and not a “free ride”. So when I exposed this he threw a temper tantrum.

I’m dismissing this person as a chauvinistic troll from the with a bad temper, who bullies women when he gets angry. What else can I conclude?

Timethief,
I think you got the answer from Matt. So, who was the useless fellow huh?

And, I never bully women…remember I respected you till this day until you started name-calling…In any case, no regrets, huh?Still need to grow up girl.

disrespectful, then mind your own business… you need to grow up …yea even older…

There is a pattern to your speech that conveys that you think the older we grow the wiser we become.

I strongly disagree with this opinion.

IMO there are more foolish old people in this world than there are wise ones.
