Awesome Photography

Just occasionally a photo really grabs my attention and makes me want to post about it to bring it to the attention of those who may not see it otherwise.

I popped over to Dazecoop to have a shufty at his latest blog posts.

He mentions that he’s bought a Canon EOS 350d to replace his Panasonic FZ30. Nice move bud! He’s already putting the new camera to the test by doing some long exposure photography.

Long Exposure Sorry Daze, I had to steal the thumbnail and link it as I couldn’t grab it using “Blog This”. If you click the thumbnail it will take you to the full version. What an awesome image! I would be proud to have created this, as it is I am just jealous!

Daze describes the process as:

Traced around a friend of mine as she stayed still. I used an LED pen torch and purposely every so often shined it directly at the lens to get the flare effect. Exposure was for 15 seconds

Doesn’t he make it sound sooooo simple! I want to get hold of you sometime and see the exact technique that you’ve used to create this stunning image.

Oh, I also want to grab the code that you use to put the “don’t lose this again” at the bottom of your posts sometime please.

What a wonderfully spooky image!
And addressing another topic, of course I’ll always stick up for you – you’re a cool guy and I’m a loyal friend.

Cool! Thanks for the mention and compliments. It really was pretty easy actually. When I first tried it, I was holding my camera in the airing cupboard with about a 4 second exposure then just got an LED torch and shined it at the camera in front of me with the other hand. After a few attempts you get the idea!

Hoping (at some point) to get down the beach before dusk and get a few second exposure of the waves. I love that…
