Advice For The Home Mechanic

When doing the basic maintenance checks such as oil and coolant (water) on your vehicle remember to do up the radiator cap!

Yep, following yesterday’s misery post, having calmed down a little, I had time to look at the cooling system.

I went to remove the rad cap and just picked it up rather than having to undo it. That’ll be the problem then!

Charging the battery seems to have solved that little gremlin too although I am a little concerned as to why it died in the first place. As a temporary measure I have disconnected my amp and speakers (sub and 6×9s) to see if that was the problem.

A friend has very kindly offered to help me weld patches into the floor section, put new sills on and patch the boot floor. Thanks buddy! I’ll speak to you tomorrow!

Just leaves the rear subframe, valve stem oil seals and the mystery oil leak.

Much happier (if somewhat embarrassed!) bunny now.

I was going to think up one of those witty “Mastercard” style things but couldn’t be arsed. Priceless :)
