Look at the time!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yep, it’s 06.09 as I type this. It is not a delayed post and I have not edited the timestamp at all. By choice I would still be in bed and fast asleep. Unfortunately one of my lovely dogs had other ideas this morning.

On and off all night he has been barking. There was a mild thunderstorm at around two thirty this morning and he disagreed with it so answered back. I have no idea what pissed him off at 0300, 0400, 0430 and 0530 but he just had to let us know about it.

Five forty five came round and I got fed up with it and went and put him in the kitchen. Unfortunately when I get up I really do not like going back to bed, so here I am. Oh well, it’s a good chance to catch up on some work I need to do.

I have agreed to provide some photos for the Mini Club for keyrings. They are going to put them in key rings and sell them at shows in an attempt to make some money. This project will eventually expand to mouse mats, badges, mugs etc, but they’re starting small. I have ten photos so far so really should go and resize them and send them to the chairman for forwarding to the printers…

WOW! What a great full bodied – full screen theme. I like it – BIGTIME! A font size I can read without using ctrl + and red font in the sidebar too, I’m truly impressed. And by the way the photo and label doesn’t hide the fact that I’m strongly sensing I’m looking at a big huggy bear. The header is interesting. It has the look of silver sculpture.

And now for the dog rave -
I’m glad you brought your dog in because leaving a dog who fears thunder outside during a storm is on the cruel side and can have some ugly consequences too. In the wild dogs and coyotes have dens where they huddle together and feel safe during storms.
Where I live whenever there is a storm or most particularly a winter gale, dogs go missing. Some fall of cliffs and die. Others get hit by cars. Some are never found. One dog I know, a Bernese mountain dog spent 4 days on a tiny ledge hanging out over the ocean before someone found him and organized a successful rescue.
Friends of ours who thought their dog was a “wuzz “during thunderstorms and hated his howling. They lost him. He always ran to our place when there was a storm. He would run for miles to get to the back of our barn and nest down in the loose hay with our dogs. Well when he was 16 and they still refused to let him in when he howled, he made the long trek to our place one stormy night and collasped with a heart attack just outside the barn door. Our firnds felt absolutely no shame when they collected his body – it was my husband and I and our dogs that grieved his loss and the awful fear he felt at his death. IMO a good dog owner recognizes his or her role as leader of the pack and addresses the needs of the others in a way that makes them feel secure and valued. So although you may be annoyed – letting your dog in was the right thing to do. Thumbs up ^^.
