Green Phlegm – Not Good

So, I’ve just been to the local Church Hall to give blood. I’ve become a regular donor, this would have been my third session. Having had a cold last week I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to donate so I went down there and asked anyway.

I explained to the lady at the desk that I’d had a cold last week but it was going away now and asked if I would be able to donate. She referred me to her colleague who asked me what I was coughin up. Pleghm was the reply. With a smirk that suggested I’d given the dumb answer, she asked what colour. “Green” was my reply. She pulled a face and shook her head. That’ll be a no then. Ho hum.

Back to the lady at the desk and she told me that there’s two more sessions locally soon, 8 May at the same place or 12 May at the church two minutes walk from my place. I’ll go to one of those.

Now, have YOU given blood? Ever? Recently? No? WHY NOT???

It takes about 30 minutes from start to finish, they take about three quarters of a pint of blood, you get to stare at cute nurses and get a free cuppa and a biscuit afterwards. I know that some will come up with the bullshit “I’m scared of needles” and others will have legitimate reasons for not donating, but why not take half an hour of your life and help to save someone elses?

You can find out more at www.blood.co.uk.

Go on help save a life. Go. Do it now.

You still here???
